      I think we could ALL use a dose of optimism ......maybe I have one ( don't get your hopes up too far )

      Anyway , I went to one of those outdoor malls today , and just went walking from store to store .......went in 4 stores that had Siri for their "mood music" , and I went into Circuit City , and checked out the Siri display ....It was set up well , all the radios worked well , user friendly , and demo'd well ......... ( I have been disappointed by many Siri displays in the past )

      I actually have a feeling that this Christmas shopping season MIGHT not be as bad as people think it will be .........I think high end electronics will suffer , but stuff in the 200 dollar range just might fair well ......in fact , I can see people passing up the 1500 dollar TV's in order to buy the 100-200 dollar gadgets like Siri and iPods maybe ..........hopefully

      Also , one last little ounce of optimism ..........The S&P has a target PPS of 2.00 still ............That's ALL I got , hope it helps

      Cos - ok , thanks ......I would think Canada would be a good market .......Canadians have money , and the country is loaded with natural resources ( always a demand for that ) ...........In fact , I never hear "how bad" Canada is doing ........I wonder ..........every country in the world is on the news , and having a crisis , but I never hear a damn thing about Canada ......They're probably rolling in dough

      s162 - yes I agree , there are some "buys" out there right now .......I am runnin' very skinny on cash though , and I have a couple of items @ 6 bucks ........LCC and PDC .............and dang if LCC didn't go down to 4.90 !!!!! But the airlines are going up and down like yo-yo's , so I've been buyin' at 6 and sellin' at 8 for a while ( give or take ) ....and makin' a few bucks , but I have a LONG way to go to make back my Siri debacle .......at .16 it is tempting to buy a few more shares , but in a way , I would hate to compound my past mistakes with another one ........hell at .16 cents a share , maybe I could do a hostile takeover !!!!!!!! Hell 100,000 bucks will damn near buy the company !!!!! .......Now's a good time to buy some solid companies , no doubt ....wish I had my siri money right now !!!!!!!! Watch as the airlines go back up 2 or 3 bucks in a week .......The big boys are playing with the airlines ......good news this week , bad news next week , up and down , for months now

      To Everyone -- We are ALL guessing !!! However , some people here have a better grasp of the techinicals than others ...ie Cos and s162

      Those guys ( and others ) work pretty hard researching ( and I sure as hell am no number cruncher ) , but ultimately , we are all just making educated guesses ......

      But I want to say thanks to the guys that dig into this mess , and TRY to help .........The lesson I have learned ( and a very expensive one ) is to avoid stocks up to their ass in debt , and negative earnings year after year .......investing 101

      But like everyone else , I thought satrad was a smoking concept with much potential .........but my gut feeling from the start was " satrad is blowing too much money " ............and to coin a phrase from African - Americans , " I shoulda listened to my first mind " ........Crap

      I voted NO RS , NO DILUTION ..........I am not giving Howard another 100 million shares

      One glimmer of hope , if the auto industry gets its ass in gear ......Otherwise , forget it ....................oh , and if the banks let go of some money !!!!!!! But really , refinancing is not the answer to anything ......MAKING MONEY IS ..........the days of running on credit are over for everyone ........time to EARN ...........this entire nation needs to take back global market share with a vengeance .......this is WAR , and only a wartime mentality will prevail

      The economic climate in the world is very serious ....maybe a lot more sirious than we really comprehend

      Siri is going to have a helluva time retaining current subs , much less aquiring new ones

      All this talk of refincing debt , all this talk of renegotiating loans , all this talk of RS , new shares etc etc , is just MORE funny money to prolong the inevitable .......It is BS

      The ONLY half assed decent SOLUTION - REAL SOLUTION , REAL MONEY , is to TRY for a government bail-out ........1 Billion for 2 or 3 channels .........Maybe there isn't a chance in hell of that getting done , but my question is this ........would it F'ing hurt to TRY !!!!!!!!

      It's a helluva lot better than the alternatives of nothing more than diluting current shareholders into oblivion , and then hope you can sucker in another million idiots like me

      I voted NO RS , and NO DILUTION ......F 'em sell some assets to get the money , or take some cuts in pay .........we've done our part

      Why the hell should we approve another 3 billion shares , just to watch Howard recieve another 100 million shares .........poor F'ing Howard

      New financing will not do crap .....It's just new debt paying old debt

      Siri is going to have to figure out a way to EARN a billion dollars real quick , because borrowing it is not going to help us , or Siri , at all because growth is going to be stagnant for quite some time .......and possibly could reverse rather easily

      Just out of curiosity ....What is keeping Siri from moving into Canada ???? I am not sure of satrad's areas ......but Canada is a helluva market for satrad ............I guess that would require launching 2 or 3 more birds , which of course Siri hasn't got the money to do ...but it seems to me that Canada is the only opportunity for growth at this time ......

      So Siri should sell Canada 2 or 3 channels in exchange for Canada footing the bill to launch the birds , and granting access to their country .......maybe I am thinking too far outside the box , but everything inside the box is dead and stinkin'

      GM's grand idea is to build hybrid escalades for 75,000 dollars that get 20mpg ..........no wonder they are in the crapper

      Hybrids in general are a joke , and no one will be laughing in 5 years when they have to buy new batteries for 5,000 dollars

      and Hybrid Escalades are the mother of all jokes

      If the U.S. auto companies concentrated on building high quality , fuel efficient , gasoline / or natural gas , cars and trucks ...........and the government removed most of the auto standards like airbags ( I know they are for safety , but a seatbelt is good enough for me if it will save me 2,000 dollars on every car I buy ) .........and the auto industry removed perks and benefits ( if you make 30 dollars an hour , you can buy your own health care and save for retirement ) ...... we might as well get used to the fact that the days of perks and benefits are coming to an end ...........if America doesn't get it's manufacturing / exports back , none of us will have a job .........and we now have to compete in a global market .........There is no way American companies can continue to fund pensions and health care .............. AND , I might add , the days of CEO's making 100 million dollars needs to end too ........ especially when their companies are failing .......... that's rediculous

      I know we are supposed to be talking SIRI here , but hell what's new ??? This week Siri sucks 3 cents more / less than last week ????

      Sirius Long Hauler - Propaganda , Military recruitment , Public service information , Emergency broadcasts , Disaster relief information , Public debates during elections , Call - in questions and answers , Tax code information .............let's say there is an earthquake in Texas ....if you have satrad , you go right to "channel 10" or whatever , and you get details of where to go for help or whatever , without having to search the airwaves waiting to find the public service announcement on some channel at some time ........"channel 10" will broadcast info 24/7 ..............and frankly , who cares what or how they use it ........just buy it !!!!!!! They'll think of something ...................oh , and for all you people that think the government will use satrad for "mind control" !!!! hahahahahah get a life

      31October - yes you are right , there are too many things on todays cars that add to the weight , and to the price of cars ..........I personally would rather not have airbags , and save 2,000 dollars on every car I buy .......In fact , if my airbag ever deploys , all it's going to do is slam my fist into my face , because most of the time I drive with my hand at 12 o'clock on the stearing wheel

      As far as the auto industry goes , it's time to simplify , and get back to basics .........and yes , American workers are going to have to get used to the idea that we might have to abandon many perks and benefits to survive

      As for Siri , the best solution to their troubles is to sell the government 2 or 3 channels for a billion dollars ( or whatever it takes to pay off all debt ) ....I have sent this idea to siri investor relations , I have also just read this same idea on a minyanville article ( so I think it has merit ) ...and if Siri doesn't at least TRY to get government help in exchange for a couple of channels . then it will be obvious they are not interested in truly salvaging our equity ....but must have other objectives

      This is a NO BRAINER ........IF Siri were to sell or lease the government 2 or 3 channels for 1-2 Billion dollars -
      1. Debt would be completely paid off
      2. No need to issue more shares
      3. No need for a reverse split
      4. The short interest would dry up
      5. The PPS would be at 5.00 in a week

      If Siri does not pursue this idea , then something is very F'd up in Melville .........

      I am surprised Brandon or Tyler have not written an opinion / article on this subject ...............we have an elephant in the room that no one is talking about

      What affect do you think this headline would have on Siri stock PPS - " Siri in discussions with congress over bailout in exchange for 2 channels " ....................yo... can bet your ass Siri would never see 25 cents again after that ..........It would pop to a dollar overnight

      Ok , A lot of you people are buying into this mess , that Mel will ONLY do a reverse split to avoid delisting , and that if a RS is authorized , he may or may not do it .....ditto for issuing new shares ..........poppycock

      If it gets authorized ....it's a done deal

      Whether or not the outcome is good or bad for us is debateable .....but , it WILL happen because it is a means to raise new capital ......ya think Mel's gonna pass on some new money comin' in ???????

      A year ago Conexant did a 10-1 reverse split from .50 to 5.00 a share

      It steadily continued to go in the toilet , and is now @ 1.29 or a before split price of .12 cents

      So Brandon , please don't spew non-sense about Siri will be harder to short after a R-S

      However , turning a profit is key at this point .......get out of the red , and investors may jump in and Siri climbs

      The ONLY thing that matters now , is to stop losing money .....and if Siri continues to lose money , it will continue to get shorted into oblivion ...no matter what .....

      Sell / Lease the government 2-3 channels for a billion bucks , and end this nightmare once and for all , with NO RS , and NO DILUTION needed

      Apparentley , Siri has cut out some redundant channels in order to trim costs

      A step in the right direction

      I still say , sell or lease the government 2 or 3 channels for a billion bucks , and suture up this wound once and for all

      No new shares , No R-S , No debt , No private takeover , No BK ........Nothing but a debt free company that would be profitable .......and all it would cost is 3 lousy channels in exchange for a billion bucks

      Ashkan - FYI .......I have watched many people get ripped here for not being optimistic on Siri ...........and during that time the stock has gone from 4.00 to .25 .............I rest my case ............and I HOPE the S&P price target of 2.00 becomes a reality one day ................if so , I will only lose 20,000 instead of 50,000 !!!!!!!!!!! pretty damn sad when a 20,000 dollar loss looks good right now

      but it wouldn't bother me a bit to close this mess with a 20k loss ......I've already made that back elsewhere

      What's everyone so pissed about ???? Hell he's right , and I'll take it a step further ....Where is ANY frickin' leadership ????? Government ???? They think the answer to everything is to re-arrange the tax code ??? You want proof ????? Look at every damn " solution " politicians come up with , and it is ALWAYS , " Well we are going to give a tax credit to blah blah blah " .........Our entire philosophy needs to be scrapped and built from scratch .........exibit A - Auto industry is strangled by perks , benefits , total lack of vision IN THE BOARDROOM , safety standards ( I don't need 4,000 dollars worth of wall to wall airbags , my seatbelt is fine with me ) ........and American workers need to get paid a decent wage , but these billions of dollars in perks and benefits will have to end ( watch and see ) ..............exibit B - China , as a stimulus package , is spending 500 billion on infrastructure , creating millions of jobs ..............but in America , we just mail everyone a frickin' 300 dollar welfare check .........we should have spent hundreds of billions of dollars creating jobs building nuclear power plants , or infrastructure improvements .............Trickle down economics is a lost cause , because the money does NOT trickle down ........it gets siphoned off at the top , and NOTHING trickles down .............we need trickle UP economics , create good paying jobs , and people will spend money , creating more jobs .........THAT is capitalism at it's best ...............

      I don't know why everyone is jumping on this Ashkan guy ......We aught to be jumping on CEO's that get massive golden parachutes , when they bail out of a failed company ..............hell , no one's going to pay ME to ruin my business !!!!!!!!! ...........Capitalism does NOT reward failure ..............so for all you blue blooded American capitalists out there - Ashkan is right ............we do crap ass backwards in this country ................and NO , I am not leaving .......and I'll damn sure give my opinion about MY COUNTRY ..................If we continue to PRINT money as a source of income ...WE ARE DOOMED ....you can take that to the bank ..................and the same goes for SIRI .....I don't care if you have a billion subs , if the frickin' income is negative , and you make money by PRINTING OR BORROWING ........well , eventually you have to pay the piper with earnings ...........that is just a fact of life
