Alexander Deligtisch's first stock was Gander Mountain, in 1991. He bought it because Value Line said it was a good pick. It didn't work out so well, but he learned a lot.

He is co-author of the forthcoming book "Earnings Quality" which will detail various techniques the individual investor can use to make informed analyst adjustments to financial statements.

He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School with a concentration in Finance & Accounting, an M.A. from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins University with a concentration in International Economics and a B.A. from Brown University with a double major in International Relations and German Literature.
